Where you measure on your body will also depend on how you want the item to fit, for bottoms (jeans/shorts/skirts) measure exactly where you want the waist to sit. For a lower waist you will want to measure lower down on the wider part of your waist, and for a more high waisted fitted look you will want to measure on the smallest part of your waist!
